  1. Spread a thin layer of barbeque sauce on the bottom of a slow cooker then place a layer pork chops, repeat with barbeque sauce then chops and pour the remainder of the bottle over the top of the final layer of chops.
  2. Cook on a HIGH setting for 4 to 5 hours, or all day on a LOW setting.
  3. You don't need to add any water because as the meat cooks the juices thin the sauce out.

Extremely easy, used pork steaks instead of chops, meat was very tender and full of flavour, my son and partner loved it and asked to have it again tonight!! you have to really like bbq sauce to really enjoy-i quite like it but wouldnt rush to have it again as im not a huge bbq sauce lover.-12 Oct 2010

Easy Crock-Pot Smothered Pork Chops With Gravy

Pour chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and garlic into the Crock-Pot slow cooker and whisk together.

Place pork chops inside slow cooker and cover. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours or until pork is tender.

To thicken gravy, first carefully remove meat from slow cooker. Then dissolve cornstarch with cool water in a separate cup, and pour into slow cooker.

Stir well, cover lid and cook on high for about 10-15 minutes until thickened.

Serve pork chops with gravy on top.

        One of the biggest things when making such a large piece of meat for us is that we often have a lot leftover.         Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make these tasty smothered pork chops.

        • 4-6 pork chops, bone-in or boneless (I used New York pork chops)
        • 1 (10 ½ oz. can) cream of chicken soup
        • 1 (10 ½ oz. can) cream of mushroom soup
        • 1 cup chicken broth
        • 1 packet onion soup mix
        • ½ teaspoon black pepper

        As I noted above, I like using boneless pork chops when I make this dish.

        The great news is, however, you can use any pork chops your family prefers. Bone-in pork chops are fine as well!

        The soups really add a lot of flavor to this dish as it cooks.

        One of my favorite things about this crock pot pork chops recipe is the delicious gravy it creates.

        I always love to make mashed potatoes and veggies to go with this dish. Biscuits are also wonderful dipped in this scrumptious gravy.

        Trim fat from chops. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chops cook until browned, turning to brown evenly. Drain off fat.         I have a hard time finding the Sweet & Spicy Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce AND the Moore’s BBQ Sauce brands that we like the best. Of course, Amazon typically has both online! This slow cooker pork chops recipe has been an easy go-to fast recipe for me when I’m in a pitch. I hope it brings joy to your home like it does mine.

        Or use an instant pot

        If you’re in a time crunch, your Instant Pot, or other pressure cooker, is a quicker option that yields the same result.

        1. Select saute on your instapot. Add 1 Tbsp of olive oil and brown all sides of the pork roast.
        2. Turn instapot off. Remove the pork roast and add ½ c water and liquid smoke.
        3. Return roast to the pot and add salt.
        4. Cover with the lid and select “manual”. Set timer for 90 minutes.
        5. Allow the pressure to naturally release before removing the lid. This will take about 20 minutes.

        Enjoy the leftovers!

        Storing: Keep the juices from the crock pot to use when storing leftovers. Put pork and some juice from the crock pot in an airtight (freezer safe, if applicable) container. Store in the fridge for 3-4 days or the freezer for up to 6 months.

        Using in other recipes: You can always enjoy kalua pork on its own, or we like to put it inside rolls to make sliders. You could also use it on tacos, nachos, or put it on top of a salad. It’s pretty versatile!
