Ingredients for making a festive snack

Jelly herring:

  1. Fillet herring 200 g
  2. Onion Yalta 80 g.
  3. Carrots 55 g.
  4. Green peas frozen 100 g
  5. Vegetable broth 125 ml.
  6. Gelatin 10 g.
  7. Sour cream 1 tbsp. l
  8. Mayonnaise 2 tbsp. l

Beetroot Jelly:

  1. Boiled beets in peel 400 g.
  2. Apple 1 pc. (130) g.
  3. Vegetable broth 125 ml.
  4. Gelatin 10 g.
  5. Sour cream 1 l
  6. Mayonnaise 2 tbsp. l
  • Main ingredients: Herring, Onion, Beetroot

Cooking a festive snack:

Cut the carrots into small cubes. Cook for 10 minutes, add peas, salt to taste, bring to a boil, turn off the heat and leave for 5 minutes. Drain the vegetables in a colander, drain the broth. We don’t need to pour the broth. Measure 250 ml. broth, dilute 20 g of gelatin in it, heating over low heat, stirring constantly, when the gelatin dissolves, allow it to cool to a warm state. Disassemble herring on fillet, pass through a meat grinder. Cut the onion into a small dice. Mix herring, peas, carrots, onions, sour cream and mayonnaise in a bowl. In another bowl, grate beets and apples on a fine grater, add sour cream, mayonnaise, a little salt and mix. Divide the gelatin in half. Pour one part into herring and the other into beets. Stir the mass, whisking a little. In paper molds for cupcakes, pour a mass of 1 cm thick and immediately put in the refrigerator. Squeeze a circle out of a slice of bread with a glass. You can also cut into squares without a crust, so it will be more economical. After an hour, the snack is ready, remove the paper form, put the jelly on a piece of bread or just on a dish, alternating jelly with herring and beets. Decorate at your discretion.
