Ingredients for making a soup with millet in a slow cooker

Cooking soup with millet in a slow cooker:

Step 1: prepare the pork.


We wash the pork well under running warm water to remove any fragments from the bones. Then we put the meat on a cutting board and, using a knife, we clear of films, veins and excess fat. Next, cut the component into small pieces and transfer to a free plate. Let him rest for now.

Step 2: prepare the potatoes.


Using a knife, peel the potatoes from the skins and then rinse thoroughly under running warm water to remove any residual soil and other dirt. Then put the tubers on a cutting board and cut into small cubes. Shredded vegetables are transferred to a small bowl and completely filled with ordinary cold water so that the potatoes do not interact with the air and do not darken.

Step 3: prepare the onions.


Using a knife, peel the onion from the husk and then rinse well under running water. Spread the head of the component on a cutting board and grind it into pieces. Pour finely chopped onion into a clean plate and leave it aside for a short while.

Step 4: prepare the carrots.


With a knife, peel the carrots, and then rinse well under running warm water. Then, using a coarse grater, we rub the vegetable directly on the cutting board, and then pour it into a clean plate.

Step 5: prepare the millet groats.


We put the pan over medium heat and let it warm up well. Immediately after this, pour millet here and calcine. This will help us get rid of the bitterness in the soup. From time to time we stir the component with a wooden spatula so that it does not burn. All this should take us a maximum of a couple of minutes until you feel the tender, barely audible nutty aroma emanating from millet. Immediately after that, turn off the burner, and pour the contents of the pan into a sieve.

We rinse the cereal under running water until it becomes transparent. At the end, we set the container aside so that excess liquid from the glass component.

Step 6: prepare the soup with millet in a slow cooker.


In a crock pot, pour a small amount of vegetable oil and turn on Frying or Baking. Across a few minuteswhen the contents of the container are well warmed up, put the pieces of pork here. From time to time, stirring with a wooden spatula, fry the meat for 15 minutesbut do not close the lid.

After the allotted time, pour the grated carrots and finely chopped onion into the pan. Continuing to stir occasionally with improvised equipment, fry the components until a soft golden color.
Next, pour the washed millet groats here, and also add the cubes of potato, tomato paste, bay leaf, vegetable seasoning, salt and ground black pepper. Having thoroughly mixed everything with a spatula, fill it with clean cold water. Now tightly close the cooker with a lid, be sure to remove the valve to release steam, turn on soup mode and cook the dish for 1 hour. After the allotted time has passed, the corresponding signal will sound. Immediately after that we turn off the appliance from the mains, open the lid and start serving the dining table.

Step 7: serve the soup with millet in a slow cooker.


Mix the finished soup with a scoop and then pour it into deep plates. Immediately serve the dish to the dining table, sprinkled with finely chopped fresh herbs, if desired. The soup turns out to be very tasty and satisfying, so you can easily eat it, seizing pieces of white bread.

Recipe Tips:

- Instead of pork, you can put chicken, beef or turkey pork in the soup. The main thing is that it be the loin, then small bones will not need to be selected from the dish;

- in order to make the soup really tasty and tender, try adding homemade tomato paste to it;

- In addition to the spices indicated in the recipe, you can add any others to your taste in the dish. For example, seasoning "a mixture of dried vegetables" can not be used at all if you do not like;

- such a soup is best poured into an ordinary pot and stored in the refrigerator for 3 daysby covering the container with a lid.
