Making white bread croutons:

Step 1: cut the bread.

Cut the loaf as usual into thin slices so that they are easily soaked in the egg mass and well-fried inside and out.

From the resulting thin slices of bread, you need to cut the crusts so that the finished toasts are tender and just melt in your mouth.
If you are preparing croutons for children, it is better to cut whole slices of the loaf into two or three equal parts so as not to scare the kids in large portions.

Step 2: prepare the egg mixture.

In a deep bowl, combine eggs, sugar and salt. Use a whisk or a fork to beat the mixture until smooth. Sugar and salt should finally dissolve completely, so mix everything until you get the desired result.

Step 3: prepare croutons.

When the egg mass is ready, dip in it, one after another, the previously prepared slices of bread. Make sure that each slice is thoroughly soaked.

Step 4: fry the croutons.

Heat a small amount of sunflower oil or other suitable oil for frying in a pan. Cook the croutons of white bread over medium heat until an appetizing golden brown on both sides. I usually don’t turn bread before it is browned on one side. Important: if your croutons burn a little outside, but do not have time to fry inside, you should lower the fire even more.

Put well-fried croutons on disposable paper towels and blot, getting rid of excess sunflower oil. That's all, white bread croutons are completely ready and you can start serving.

Step 5: serve the finished croutons of white bread.

White bread croutons are good both in hot and in slightly cooled form. You can grease them with butter or eat just like that. In any case, you will appreciate the taste of fragrant and sufficiently nutritious croutons. Brew your favorite hot drink and start your meal.
Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- In some recipes I also recommend adding a little milk.

- Ready croutons can be sprinkled with grated cheese while they are still hot, so you get a more satisfying and tasty dish.

- Also croutons from white bread can be served with sweet toppings, for example, with caramel or chocolate syrup, as well as with various jams made from fruits and berries.
